The goal of this project is to collect at least 100 hobbyists to push ourselves to hone our craft and complete one Space Marine model to our highest standard. In the process, we will complete a collection of all 100 approved chapters which will then be made into an iconic display piece and raffled off to one lucky participant. In the event of extreme interest, we have expansion stretch goals to include other factions and a charity donation.
Our hope is that this project will include painters who may not have faith in their skills, to use this as motivation to improve, get together with other painters, share ideas and learn from mentors in person or online, and in two months, to have an impressive model to include in this project. We would also hope that this project inspires "pro painters" to polish their technique and try something new or improve a weak spot, like freehand, blending or greenstuff work.
Our timeline as of now is to have models finished for a Christmas prize drawing.
Marines must be multi part plastic on an old small round base with both hands on bolter at low to mid carry (not aiming down sights) and feet on base. They must be painted to official chapter colors with tactical arrow and chapter insignia, basic trooper only , no special weapons or jump packs , no banners or purity seals, little to no weathering as they will be in an inspection style formation. Please use basing as a chance to show some of your homeworld fluff but no trophies or dead enemies. Base edges must be black.
Chapter list will be posted for participants to choose chapters, or you can have us assign you one at random. List will be updated as often as possible.
